If you have been wanting to buy a machine to exercise at home on but want an elliptical machine and worry that it might take up too much space in your home. You shouldn’t because they now make some great compact elliptical machines that are very affordable and take up on a small amount of space in your living room or bedroom. These companies are well known for making strong and durable and high functioning exercise equipment for the home.
One of the biggest drawbacks to owning and using a folding machine of this type is that they tend to be an economy type of machine. That means they cost under $1,000. So if you are looking for a machine more like what your gym has you might want to consider the two-sided flywheel design.
Narrow Designed Ellipticals
If you don’t need a machine that folds up and have a bit more space but still want a fairly compact type of machine then you might really like the newer narrow designed compact models because they are made much narrower than ever before.
For instance one of the top manufacturers of home exercise equipment, Proform has introduced their new Razor series that are about half as wide as the regular machines in this class. They are the same size in length but they are smaller in width so they are able to fit in narrow exercise spaces. However these are more of mid range machine of this type and not the same quality machine you would use at the gym.

In the smaller class of these elliptical this is the only type of machine that can rival the machines quality that your gyms machine uses. In fact some gyms carry this machine because they are a higher end of the compact machine. This model is made with two smaller flywheels on each side of the machine. With this revolutionary design it brings the legs much closer together and some people claim it makes for a much smoother feel when using it to exercise. One of the big selling points for this design is that it puts the user into a much better workout posture which in turn helps optimize their workout.
